The Walmart link isn’t working for me?

Please reach out and let us know if there are any links that don’t work–while we check them routinely, there is always the possibility of a change on the vendor side that will render a link “dead.”  We very much appreciate our Dinner Deck customers’ help on alerting us to any linkage issues!

Do I need a Walmart+ account to use Dinner Deck?

No.  Anyone can scan the QR code and see the linked recipe, pro hacks and cart links.  The fastest and most efficient way to use the Walmart link is if you have either a Walmart account or the Walmart app (both are free).  A Walmart Plus account will enable you to get deals on delivery and shipping, coupons, etc.

Why did Dinner Deck choose Walmart as an exclusive vendor?

The creators of Dinner Deck live in a rural area, with Walmart being the closest grocery store in both directions (that is not also a gas station).  We wanted to ensure that every person would be able to get everything for every recipe in one place.  Therefore all of our recipes are based off of the inventory available at a rural Walmart.  We look forward to working with other vendors such as Instacart in the future!

Can I share recipes or carts with friends even if they have not purchased a deck?

Yes.  On each recipe page there is a “share” arrow button.  This will allow you to send the meal card to a friend (or your husband who you sent to the store to get the groceries).  Within Walmart there is also a share button for each cart (called a Collection).

How do we use Dinner Deck to meal plan?

What we like to do is pick out a dozen or so cards and then hand those to the kids and tell them to pick 7 for the next week.  This ensures they are not simply picking chicken nuggets over and over but also gives them some voting power.  Then we scan the QR code and click on each cart, adding the items we need to our Walmart cart.  We get a Walmart delivery or pick-up on Mondays.  Of course you could always go the adventurous route and just pick 7 random cards, sprinkle in some Wild Cards and let ‘er buck!

How do the Wild Cards work?

Each Wild Card’s QR code will bring you to its webpage.  The recipes and cart links for these cards change monthly, and are usually something wacky we came up with, a fun new meal we’ve found from somewhere else in the world, or even a Chat GPT special!  When playing the Dinner Deck game a Wild Card can be used to stand-in for any color in the quest to total 7 cards of a color.
